End of Year 3 update

I have officially wrapped up the end of my third year at Indiana University in the PhD program in French Linguistics!

This year, I have:

  • Presented at New Ways of Analyzing Variation, the Linguistic Society of America, The Annual Meeting on Phonology, the Acoustical Society of America, and the Canadian Linguistics Association
  • Submitted an aritcle on the status of the palatal lateral in Occitan varieties to Occitan (waiting on reviews and decisions)
  • Successfully finished my final qualifying paper on sociophonetic variation using my corpus of Québécois singers
  • Passed my PhD exams

In the next year, I will:

  • Defend my research proposal by the end of September
  • Send out three article drafts that I have been sitting on
  • Apply for tenure-track jobs in Linguistics
