I have officially wrapped up the end of my third year at Indiana University in the PhD program in French Linguistics!
This year, I have:
- Presented at New Ways of Analyzing Variation, the Linguistic Society of America, The Annual Meeting on Phonology, the Acoustical Society of America, and the Canadian Linguistics Association
- Submitted an aritcle on the status of the palatal lateral in Occitan varieties to Occitan (waiting on reviews and decisions)
- Successfully finished my final qualifying paper on sociophonetic variation using my corpus of Québécois singers
- Passed my PhD exams
In the next year, I will:
- Defend my research proposal by the end of September
- Send out three article drafts that I have been sitting on
- Apply for tenure-track jobs in Linguistics
